In this article I am going to talk a bit about RootCloak Plus and how it can be used on rooted Android devices to protect their data from being stolen. As with most free software applications (most of which are in fact free), RootCloak Plus is very easy to install and use on rooted Android devices. To download RootCloak Plus to your device you just have to find an appropriate download site, download the application, install it, and then enable the application. If you are using an Android 4.4 or ROM based device, you will also have to manually reboot your device and change the SELinux runtime environment to read/write only.
As with most things in life, there are good, bad, and ugly with RootCloak Plus. The good side to the application is that it works as intended. You do not need any sort of special permissions to run the application since it is simply a binary program compiled by XDA developers to run on rooted android devices. What this means for you is that you do not need root permission to run this app. If you want to bypass root detection and go straight to the files or folders you want, that is 100% fine as well.
The big issue with RootCloak Plus is that it does not hide your android logcat from others. This means if you use this app or any others that will automatically log you out of android, someone else will see your android activity. This can be very dangerous because if you are undetected while you are surfing the internet, your location can be pinpointed and you can be robbed at the bank. Because of these reasons, I do recommend that you use a method that completely hides your android processes while still allowing you to browse the internet and perform other activities on your android device.
